How to Perform and Interpret Cardiac Diagnostics with Confidence Thoracic radiography, echocardiography and electrocardiography (ECG) are valuable non-invasive tools for assessing the cardiac health of a patient. Obtaining good quality cardiac diagnostics is essential to ensure that an accurate diagnosis is reached and an optimal therapeutic plan is put in place for each patient with suspected heart disease.
Interpretation of thoracic radiographs in patients with suspected cardiovascular disease can often be challenging. The aim of this webinar is to increase attendees’ ability and confidence in assessing heart size, specific cardiac chamber enlargement, pulmonary vascularity and pulmonary parenchymal patterns.
Echocardiography is an invaluable tool for the evaluation of cardiac chamber size, wall thickness, wall motion and cardiac valve morphology. It can play an important role in general practice for diagnosis confirmation and cardiac disease staging in patients with commonly encountered acquired heart diseases e.g. MVD, DCM, HCM. However, technical knowledge and expertise in performing and interpreting a basic echocardiographic examination are fundamental prerequisites to the valid use of this diagnostic tool.
