This presentation follows on from ‘Feline Behaviour for General Practitioners’ and covers one of the most common behavioural presentations encountered in general practice, feline housesoiling. This causes significant emotional distress for owners, is frequently a sign of poor welfare in the feline patient and is a high risk factor for relinquishment. The presentation will discuss identification of potential causes of feline housesoiling, first aid advice for management of this problem and advice on referring to an appropriately qualified and experienced behaviourist where required. It will also cover one of the commonest causes of lower urinary tract disease, feline idiopathic cystitis, a disease process which requires significant behavioural input for appropriate management.
