Wendela is an Associate Professor in Cattle Health and Epidemiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science in Nottingham. Before Nottingham, she practiced in The Netherlands, New Zealand, Canada and the UK. Wendela is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Dairy Specialty) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has expertise in developing innovative teaching methods and has the responsibility and oversight of farm animal health teaching on the veterinary degree course. She received her PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology from the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada; her research topic was the epidemiology of Neospora caninum in dairy cattle and wildlife. Her teaching and research involves bovine reproduction, infectious disease control, evidence based veterinary medicine, veterinary education and knowledge exchange. Wendela enjoys working in the specialist field of cattle health, and likes to travel, teach and perform research related to the practical side of cattle health and production.
