Bio

Tom qualified as a vet from the University of Bristol in 2008. He spent three years in general farm animal practice, as part of a five vet team, working predominantly with high yielding dairy herds in the north of England. In 2012 Tom joined Lambert Leonard and May, a specialist dairy practice in the west of England, with a team of nineteen vets servicing approximately 50,000 milking cows.

A growing interest in udder health and milking performance led to further specialism in this area, with Tom providing advanced advice in mastitis and somatic cell count issues for farm clients of Lambert Leonard and May. Working in this area highlighted the potential for improving advice to the industry on the relationship between the cow and the milking parlour. With two colleagues, Tom started Precision Milking in 2013, a consultancy business providing specialist advice and services for udder health and milking machine optimisation for farms throughout the United Kingdom. Tom remains a practicing veterinary surgeon, splitting his time between general dairy work and specialist udder health consultancy for Precision Milking.
