David qualified as vet in 1982 with a BVSc from Liverpool University and have been working in 100% companion animal practice since that time.

He was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Dermatology in 1994.

Over the last 25 years David has gone from spending about 30% of his time involved in Veterinary Dermatology to having about 80% of his case load being either problem skin or ear cases.

He is a member of both the British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group and the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology and to keep up to date he regularly attends Veterinary Dermatology courses and conferences both in the UK and abroad and is a member the worldwide internet discussion group for veterinary dermatologists, Vetderm Listserv.

Since March 2015 David has been recognised as an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Dermatology.

David has a special interest in ear disease and has taken an active interest in video otoscopy, treatment of Pseudomonas otitis and in ear surgery, having attended numerous video otoscopy and ear surgery courses and workshops and offer Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) and Bulla osteotomy for the surgical management of end stage ear disease. He has performed over 290 TECA-LBO procedures over the last 25 years.

Having a Karl Storz Video Otoscope, which allows David to safely perform deep ear cleaning of my ear cases, it has meant that many animals have been spared from having surgery and David considers this an essential tool for the treatment of the majority of cases of Pseudomonas Otitis in dogs and many other cases of otitis ins dogs and cats.

David say 'The skills that I have acquired allow me to offer a truly complete service for the treatment of companion animal ear disease.'
