Bio

Allyson Groth graduated from The University of Melbourne, Australia and immediately relocated overseas to pursue specialist training. Following a one-year Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at Colorado State University, she completed a three-year Residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at The University of California, Davis, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology. Over these years Allyson conducted numerous clinical and basic science research studies, with the results presented at conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Working in these academic institutions also provided the opportunity to witness and participate in the education of veterinary medical students. This enabled Allyson to develop practical skills to complement her genuine passion for teaching. She has brought that enthusiasm back home to Australia, where she works in specialty practice and views sharing knowledge with (and learning from) colleagues, general practice vets, interns, residents, clients, and support-staff one of her most important roles. She is committed to evidence-based practice and life-long learning. Allyson works at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital, a large multi-specialty hospital in Sydney and the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
