The veterinary community suffered a huge loss this weekend with the passing of our friend and colleague, Louise O’Dwyer. Her unexpected and untimely death has come as a terrible shock even to those who knew her only from a distance, for Louise had that kind of effect on people. As one of our most popular and committed speakers, her professionalism and passion for her work was always clear.
Louise was always enthusiastic about education, being a well-known face on the CPD circuit, and authored many textbooks which vet nurses rely on to this day. Her technical expertise, combined with her ability to explain complex topics in simple terms, made her a born teacher, and we are lucky to have benefited from her generous and kind spirited nature. Louise was intending to present her next webinar for us in June, and none of us could have expected we would never have the chance to see it.
We offer our condolences to her family and all those close to her. There is regrettably little else that we can do at this time, but we would like to suggest that you all hold Louise in your thoughts and memories. We are sure that her legacy will live on for many decades to come.
