On Monday Anthony and I had a day away from The Webinar Vet’s head quarters and went to a very exciting futuristic event. It was great to meet lots of new people from different industries and get an insight into what we can expect to happen to the world in the years to come. When you think of how much the world has developed in the last 10 years, it’s exciting to think what we can expect in another 10 years. There wasn’t even the internet until several years ago and definitely no webinars!
Many interesting areas that we discussed at the event included a shift in technology, banking, computing and education. By 2022 they predict that laptops, computers and smart phones will be a technological thing of the past and Ebay, Facebook, Amazon, I Tunes and Google Play will be our banks. It’s hard to imagine what life will be like and how the world will have developed!
For me personally the most extraordinary topic which I took from the event was the rise of materialisation which is something that is already in the process of being developed. People are currently trying and testing printing human blood cells, body parts and animal parts! An example that was shared was an artificial human jaw that was made in the Netherlands from titanium powder, built up in a 3D printer and finished in a bio ceramic coating. All types of treatments will eventually be available for humans and animals and could have huge benefits for the medical and veterinary industry as costs will be cut, surgery will be quicker and recover time will be shorter.
It was a long but hugely informative day out of the office which left us with lots of food for thought. I know that our team at The Webinar Vet are going to do the best we can to keep up to date with the new innovative ideas we discussed and we looking forward to educating you and keeping you updated as best we can too.
