I’m slowly recuperating from the rigours of BSAVA! Each year it seems to get that little bit harder. Perhaps we are all getting that little bit older! We had the stand as usual and then I was chatting to various companies about webinars we will be running shortly.
It was great to be invited to the Petplan Awards. I believe there were nearly 20,000 nominations. I never got one – drat! but I did get to sit on the table with the comedian and compere, Marcus Brigstock, who was very funny.
We also had a freestyle rapper who was also very entertaining.
I was sitting next to Sean Wensley, BVA President, and his lovely partner, Jenny McCaughey. We have a BVA Webinar on ‘An Update on TB with John Blackwell next week, Monday 18th at 8pm. This is worth watching as a small animal vet as well as a cattle vet.
On Saturday, we launched our Mindfulness Series which has been put together thanks to the kind sponsorship of The Royal College. It’s an 8 week series starting 26th April at 8pm, and finishing on 14th June. It’s recorded and you can watch it at your own convenience. The series would normally cost £200 + VAT but thanks to the sponsorship of RCVS, we are offering it for £40 + VAT or £200 + VAT for 10 tickets. Interestingly, at the Mind Matters press conference where this initiative was launched, Nick Stuart of SPVS, was talking about the corporate responsibility of practices and other organisations, to offer resources to their team to look after their mental and physical health. SPVS Congress in January also discussed this whole area with the help of Claudia Hammond and Alastair Campbell.
I’d ask you to really consider buying an individual ticket or a business ticket. If you would like to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to email: firstname.lastname@example.org
All vet students can attend free due to the RCVS sponsorship. Email us if you need the link and are eligible.
Our other Expertise Series are continuing this month. If you have not joined yet, it is not too late as you can catch up with the recordings.
We also have 2 free rabbit webinars coming up in the next month, with John Chitty presenting both.
The first is sponsored by Pharmaq and is about Endo and Ecto Parasites in Rabbits. Small birds’ parasites will also be mentioned. It’s on 27th April at 1pm. It is recorded as well so make sure you register in case an emergency comes in
On 25th May, John will again be talking about rabbits. This time on gut stasis. This webinar is sponsored by Burgess.
I hope you enjoy all our high quality CPD.
To your CPD success!
