Back home from Birmingham after an enjoyable BSAVA. I worked out I’ve been singing at the BSAVA Folk Night for 20 years. This is really down to Elanco’s Rob Long who has been organising it for over 20 years. All the old favourites were sung again but I did a tribute for Rob. Thank you for the music. The first time an Abba song has ever been sung at the Folk Night. We did have a strong Scandanavian contingent who finished the night off with one of their own songs.
Friday night was the Banquet night. Our table was sat close to the kitchens and were fascinated by the military precision in which food was delivered- a fantastic service! The exhibition has contracted a bit I think but there were plenty of interesting things to see with Merial and Vetoquinol both offering cars as prizes.
During congress we met up with Nigel Davies from Maidstone who has become our Webinar Vet of the Year for 2014.
Nigel has already attended more CPD than the RCVS require for the whole year and is also a fellow dermoid. He is a partner at a large small animal and equine practice.
BSAVA is over for another year. Well done to all those who prepare such a mammoth event!
