Keith Cutler

Bio

Keith qualified from the Bristol University Veterinary School in 1990 having gained an intercalated degree in Anatomical Sciences three years before this.  Shortly after graduating he joined the farm animal department of the Endell Veterinary Group in Salisbury, Wiltshire, where he remains to this day having become a partner in the practice in 1998.  During his time at Endells he has seen the farm department grow from four vets to fourteen, a pharmacist, two RSQ-Ps, an E-T and AI technician, a NACFT category 1 registered hoof trimmer, two veterinary technicians and other essential staff.

 

Keith’s bovine interests are many and varied and include suckler herd management and productivity, dairy and suckler cow fertility, bull fertility, infectious disease management and control, bovine lameness and youngstock health.  He also pursues an interest in exotic animal medicine.

 

Keith is a past-president of the BCVA, a diplomat of the European College of Bovine Health Management and a previous recipient of the Farmers Weekly Livestock Advisor of the Year award.  He is a director of CHeCS and chairs their technical committee and sits on the advisory boards for both BVDFree England and Action Johne’s.  He teaches on behalf of the RVC and at the Bristol University Veterinary School, lectures on bovine topics both within the UK and abroad, is widely published within the veterinary literature and has been commissioned to write a book on bovine medicines.

 

Keith is married to Sam, a small animal veterinary surgeon, and together they have two daughters Hazel, who is studying biochemistry at Bath University, and Katy, who is studying for her A’ levels when not playing water polo.  Any spare time is taken up photographing butterflies or ballroom dancing.
